DISCOVER CODEBREAKER

Codebreaker Brew Co. is a craft beer company whose founders were born and raised in Lincoln, UK. Started by two beer obsessives from a city deeply entrenched with ancient artefacts and the myth of enduring legend, we brew a hazy premium 4.8% New England IPA, unfiltered for maximum flavour with subtle tropical notes and perfectly balanced bitterness.

Cairo is a metropolitan city full of hustle & bustle and a melting pot of cultures, but gained a reputation in the early 20th century as the destination for treasure hunters, known for their happy-go-lucky attitude and sense of bravado. These rogue 'Codebreakers' crammed into the tiny smoke-filled bars down narrow side streets seeking ice cold refreshment after long day's exploring the wind swept sands under the unrelentingly hot sun. Codebreaker NEIPA embodies the sense of adventure and optimism that these codebreakers brought to Egypt, seeking to unlock its secrets. It is this lovable rogue, famed for his sense of adventure, that you see at every turn on our cans and on our beer taps.

We are Lincoln based and supply all our canned and kegged beer directly from our temperature-controlled Lincoln facility, but our beer itself is brewed off-site at a large state-of-the-art brewery here in the UK.

THE BEER

At Codebreaker Brew Co, we decided to brew one beer and one beer only, making it as good as we could. Our 4.8% hazy, tropical NEIPA is brewed unfiltered and unpasteurised for maximum flavour and aroma, winning a Gold medal in the 2021 International Beer Challenge (IBC), a Gold in the 2023 European Beer Challenge and a Silver in the 2023 London Beer Competition.

Simply put, the filtration process robs beer of flavour by removing tiny sediment particles. Our unfiltered beer means that we lose none of the flavour or aroma, whilst giving our beer its hazy appearance and delivering a softer mouthfeel.

That’s right. Why so? We say heat is the enemy of beer, so we leave Codebreaker unpasteurised to ensure that it tastes fresher – it really is that simple!

Yes. Our aluminium cans are recyclable and all our packaging comes from sustainable sources. Even our packaging infill foam is 100% compostable.

As soon as we can make it happen! Keep your eyes on our Instagram page and check in on our ‘Find Nearest Pub’ website link for an updated list of venues serving our beer.

Codebreaker is not officially certified vegan, but it is suitable for vegans, with only plant-based ingredients.

Codebreaker should be stored cold (refrigerated if possible). Whilst all beer likes to be stored cold, Codebreaker’s unfiltered and unpasteurised recipe makes it especially important to keep cold to ensure best taste.
