Thinking back to backpacking adventures from late 2004, the brothers’ minds wandered to hotter climes and one specific pitstop on their travels; Cairo. A city full of famous pyramids, sphinxes and hidden tombs, it has long been a mecca for treasure hunters and tomb raiders throughout time.
SUNDOWNERS IN CAIRO WAS A WAY OF LIFE FOR CODEBREAKERS
Cairo is a metropolitan city, full of hustle & bustle and a melting pot of cultures, but gained a reputation in the early 20th century as the destination for treasure hunters, known for their happy-go-lucky attitude and sense of bravado. These rogue ‘codebreakers’, fuelled with optimism and opportunity thanks to advancements in air travel, crammed into the tiny smoke-filled bars down narrow side streets seeking ice cold refreshment after long day's exploring the wind swept sands under the unrelentingly hot sun.
Codebreaker NEIPA embodies the sense of adventure and optimism that these Codebreakers brought to Egypt, seeking to unlock its secrets; The Spirit of Egypt.
Our Codebreaker is the 20th century treasure hunter; the lovable rogue famed for his sense of adventure. It is him you see at every turn on our cans and beer taps.
Today, the Spirit of Egypt lives on. Modern day treasure hunters still descend on the wind swept sands and hazy sunset orange skies of Egypt, beneath which unearthed secrets lie.
We use modern brew techniques to create a golden hazy NEIPA, using the very same free-spiritedness, to create a juicy and sessionable New England IPA with crisp refreshment – from first sip ’til last.
